Trigere really was a master at cut and construction and this unusual and rare numbered sample dress is a showcase of her work. Made of a fine black wool crepe, it's shape is completely formed though the use of vertical seaming. The shoulders are high and gathered and a precursor to the movement that begins in the early eighties. These strong shoulders lean to a skinny wrist and hand set zippers allow the wearer to have a snug fit. The bodice scoops down in a plunge that is cut on the curve and the skirt flares out in a gentle A-line. Fine silk flowers are hand cut and then machine embroidered around their edges. These are then applied single and stacked around the hem for a bit of edginess. It has its original tie belt that can add a little definition to the waist, or can be worn on the head or around the neck, or even wrapped around a wrist! Immaculately made and in excellent condition.
